Phyllis Cobb Obituary
Loving wife of the late Jack H. Cobb, whom she married January 3, 1953 and who preceded her in death on March 14, 2015, beloved mother of Jennifer Joy Cobb of Naperville, devoted daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (nee Harper) Shuneson, dear sister of Carol Marlowe of Paris, IL, fond aunt of Eric and Bill Marlowe and families.
Jodie grew up in Danville, IL and was a graduate of Danville High School (Class of 1946), where she was a proud classmate of future actor, Dick Van Dyke. After graduation, Jodie moved to Indianapolis, IN, where she met her husband, Jack, married, and later moved to Naperville.
Jodie was a longtime member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Naperville and sang in the church choir. She also sang in the Naperville Community Choir at North Central College in Naperville and was a member of the Naperville Garden Club and Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville. Jodie served as a volunteer at Edward Hospital in Naperville and also for Meals on Wheels. She was proud of her Swedish heritage and enjoyed her trip to Sweden to see the home country of her grandfather, Nels Shuneson.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, 1:00-2:00 PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL 60540, (630) 355-2522.
A celebration of Jodie's life will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM in the church.
A reception will follow the service at the church.
Future inurnment: Naperville Cemetery.
