MIDDLEVILLE – Phyllis M. Crossett, 72, of Park Avenue, passed away on September 22, 2022 at Little Falls, Hospital.
Mrs. Crossett was born on December 27, 1949 in Utica, a daughter of the late James and Nellie (Stanley) Clark. She graduated from West Canada Valley Central School in 1967, and furthered her education at the Mildred Elliott Secretarial School, where she received an associate degree. On May 11, 1973, Phyllis was united in marriage with William S. Crossett at the Newport United Methodist Church. She once ran the Blue Anchor Diner in Poland. Phyllis was last employed as an assistant administrator at the Middleville Rest Home. She enjoyed flowers, baking and going to craft fairs.
Survivors besides her husband of 49 years, William, include three children, Melissa Maxwell of Middleville, Seth Crossett of Holland Patent and Nathaniel (Lisette) Crossett of Utica; a son-in-law, Joseph Maxwell of Newport; a sister, Janet (Anthony) Plescia of Woodgate; five grandchildren, McKenna Maxwell, Nolan, Autumn, Bryce, and Clark Crossett; a canine companion "Sug" Sugarfoot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, James and "Ollie" Clark.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at the Newport Cemetery on Saturday, October 1st, at 11:00 a.m.. There will be no public calling hours.
