Phyllis Ann Istre, 81, of Eudora, AR passed away with her son by her side. She was born on November 11, 1943, in Humphrey, AR, to her parents, Elmer Ashburn and Lottie Mae Ellenburg.
Phyllis worked many places; She worked at Sunflower for over 14 years. She walked 3 miles every day to start her day, and she loved it when she and her sisters went on outings. Known as the meaner one, Phyllis had no problem telling her peace and in her older years setting healthy boundaries in what she believed to be right from wrong. She lived most of her life alone from the end of the 90's and was very independent, strong-willed and HAPPY! That's how we will remember her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband EJ Istre; sister Ollie Ruth Dye and brother Shelby Ashburn.
She is survived by two sons; Michael (Donna) Ashley and Shannon (Connie) Smith; one daughter; Sonya (Shannon) Clark; sister Joyce (Lamar) Williams; Nine grandchildren; Heather and Blake Ashley, Stoney (LaDarius) Sean, Mercedes Smith, Meghan (Edward)Cook, Kaidan (Kathryn) Braxton, (Caitlyn) Clark and Zaedic Peterson; Eleven Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Northside Baptist Church in Eudora on May 2, 2025, at 11 A. M.
