Phyllis “PJ” Oglesbee, 79, passed away from a courageous battle with cancer on November 12, 2025 at the Kobacker House. She was born to the late Vernon and Margaret Snyder on Sunday, June 23, 1946, in Lancaster, Ohio.
PJ graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. She went on to attend Columbus State to earn her real estate license. PJ spent her whole career as a realtor in Central Ohio. It was a rewarding career for her– she loved helping people buy their first home. She enjoyed traveling —her most memorable destination was Europe. PJ loved to knit and crochet, especially Afghans. She also enjoyed getting together with her friends and going out to dinner.
PJ is survived by her son, Terry (Barb) Carpenter; her grandchild, Kyle (Jenna) Carpenter; her brother, Kelvin (Steve) Snyder; her grand-dog, Roux; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Margaret; late husband, Richard Oglesbee; siblings, Kenny and Barbara Snyder, and beloved cats, Sammy and Missy.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kobacker House for the loving care they gave to PJ.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 12 PM in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N Columbus St, Lancaster, OH 43130. Friends and family may visit from 10 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow the service at Forest Rose Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in PJ’s name to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.
