Phyllis Y. Patterson, born Phyllis Y. Ginn on September 26, 1940, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 84 in the loving care of her daughter's home. A proud graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1960, Phyllis was known for her warm spirit, love of family, and quiet strength. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Ruby Ginn, her two brothers, Bobby and Ricky Ginn, and her beloved dog, Precious, who brought her many years of comfort and companionship. She is survived by her devoted brother, Vernon (Alice) Ginn, and her loving sister, Susie (Curtis) Kuykendall. Phyllis leaves behind her two daughters, Lynn Wicker and Deirdra Harmon, who were the center of her world. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kristen (Brian, affectionately known as her "second favorite") Jarvis, Morgan Wicker, and Dallas (Megan, her "first favorite") Harmon. She was also blessed with a beloved great-granddaughter, Alexis Wicker, who continues to reside in the home. Her other cherished great-grandchildren include Nathan, Alayna, Caleb, Jacob, Chase, Harrison, Hudson, Reese, Will, and Coleman. Phyllis made her home in Pelzer, South Carolina beginning in 1982. She dedicated more than 30 years of her career to House of Fabrics and later retired from Collins Mail after 15 years of service. As a woman of faith, Phyllis attended NewSpring Church and cherished time spent with her family. She found joy in baking-especially her famous chocolate and cherry pies at Christmas-reading and remembering her days in a local bowling league. Her life was one of quiet grace, steadfast dedication, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service.
