A funeral procession will form Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Kingston.
Phyllis M. Weishaupt, 85, of Kingston, died Monday, February 10, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 1, 1939, in Bronx, NY. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Katherine (MacDonald) Komosa.
Phyllis grew up in Kingston and in 1959 married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) A. Weishaupt. Throughout their 56 years of marriage, she and Bob were an inseparable team, nurturing their family, traveling the country, and spending time with friends. The dining room table at their home was a place to gather for delicious meals, lively conversation, and much laughter. Her Caesar salad dressing and her lemon meringue pie were the stuff of legends. In her youth, Phyllis was a talented softball player. She loved ice skating, playing Pinochle, sewing epic Halloween costumes, and growing hydrangeas, her favorite flower. In her later years she loved going to dinner, lunch, and coffee (or actually tea) with the ladies of the Platinum Club and touting the accomplishments and antics of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Phyllis worked as a lunch monitor at George Washington Elementary School before dedicating 25 years to MetLife in Kingston in the Human Resources Department. Later, she served as a Teacher's Aide for the Kingston City School District. She was a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Kingston.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Johnson and her husband, Brad, of Kingston; Laura Weishaupt and her husband, Jason Corbett, of Los Angeles, California; Lisa Neilson and her husband, Timothy, of Lake Katrine; her grandchildren, Alyssa Schlanger and her husband, Matthew; Joshua Brooks and his wife, Molly; Emily Brooks; Julian Corbett and his partner, Calvin Lamothe; Katie Wilbert and her husband, Joseph; John Neilson; Maegan Neilson and her fiancé, Will Robinson; Grace Neilson and her fiancé, Michael Tafaro; her great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Brooks Schlanger, June Brooks, and James, Andrew, and Ilsa Wilbert; her siblings, Donald Komosa and Elizabeth Horvath, and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis is predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Weishaupt, her sisters Alice Brady and Katherine Ann Guarino, and her brother Raymond Komosa.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Hudson Valley Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
