It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Richard Weishaupt, age 74, on August 3, 2025. Born on February 23, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend whose life touched the hearts of many.
John was studious, he earned an MBA from Wayne State University and was also a skilled tradesman as well as a business owner. He could repair anything and was admired for his professionalism and dedication to his work. He was always up to date on the latest political news and wanted a peaceful future for his family.
A resident of Harrison Township, Michigan, John loved spending time at his Portsmouth, Rhode Island home, where he enjoyed kayaking, biking, and being outdoors. He cherished family dinners and creating joyful memories with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Denise; his son, Eric Weishaupt (Kristen), and daughter Edie Nicaise (Tim); grandchildren, Nora, Owen, and Gustav John Nicaise.
His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial to honor John's life and legacy will be held at a later date. Details regarding the time and location will be shared to allow friends and family the opportunity to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who was deeply loved.
John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life and the love he shared with his family.
