Phyllis Darlene Welch of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on August 23, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas to RL and Clovis Brown.
Phyllis was a retired educator and spent many years teaching homemaking in the Mount Pleasant School District. After her retirement she enjoyed working part time for Our Special Touch Tea Room. She was very active in The Teacher Retirement Program attending weekly meetings. Over the years, she enjoyed putting together scrapbooks, sewing, cooking, baking, playing cards and bunco with friends, traveling, and keeping up with the Cowboys, Mavericks and her beloved Texas Rangers. But, her greatest love was spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son-in-law Scott, and wife Kathy Crawford of McKinney, Texas; brother Randy Brown of Mount Pleasant; sister-in-law Pat Brown of Mount Pleasant; and grandchildren Liam, Nora, and Brody; as well as special friend Kathy Weeks and husband Dean of Mount Pleasant. And a host of other family members that she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents RL and Clovis Brown; husband Danny Welch; daughter Dana Welch Crawford; brother Phil Brown; sister-in-law Marsha Brown; niece Deborah Brown; nephew Scott Welch; and great nephew Elijah Hilton.
Services will be held, Friday December 27, 2024, at the North Ridge Church of Christ with a visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with the service to follow at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Nevill's Cemetery.
