Pierre Cherisol Obituary Pierre Orius Cherisol was born in Borgne, Haiti on Tuesday March 7th, 1944. He was the second-born of 10 children to the late Demesier Cherisol and Emilia Alexandre.
Pierre would often say: Ive been working hard since I was five years old. It was a reference to how his parents sent him to pursue his studies at the Adventist school and Church in Gros Morne, Haiti. From that point, he was raised by his uncle Dieudonne Cherisol.
He embraced the Adventist faith during his time there and remained devoted to it until his final moments.
Pierre was ambitious and strived for a better life for his family. He endured difficult decisions, such as leaving the beautiful island of Haiti in 1967 and moving to Bahamas.
In 1969, Pierre relocated from the Bahamas to Miami, FL. Achieving this was a miracle, considering that Haitian immigrants did not easily receive such opportunities.
Pierre became a member of the Bethany Seventh Day Adventist Church and actively engaged in various roles. He participated in the Youth choir, Tabernacle Choir, and the Male chorus. Additionally, he took on responsibilities as a Sabbath School teacher and Head Deacon. His dedication as a Sabbath school teacher for the expanding Haitian community in Miami played a pivotal role in establishing Zion Miami, the first Haitian SDA church in the city.
Pierre eventually enjoyed a 28-year career working for the Miami-Dade Public School System (1982-2010). Pierre was also a successful real estate entrepreneur in the early 80s and expanded in the early 2000s. After retirement, you could find Pierre mostly in his garden planting and nurturing all types of fruits and vegetables.
On October 4th, 1979, Pierre married Marie Macula Magny with the help from his good friend, Pastor Amos Bossous. From their marriage, they welcomed three children. Pierre was especially a devoted grandfather, always ready to prioritize his grandkids whom he cherished deeply.
Pierre served as a provider for both his immediate and extended family, always expressing concern for their well-being. His home became a refuge for many, as he was committed to ensuring that no one experienced pain, illness, or hunger.
Known for his sense of humor, Pierre enjoyed engaging in lengthy conversations and sharing stories of the past with anyone willing to listen.
Pierre lived a challenging yet remarkable life that cannot be adequately captured on paper. If Pierre could speak today, he would be urging everyone within earshot to:
Put Jesus first in everything that you do. Hold on to him because thats the only way you can survive.
In the early morning of December 27, 2023, Pierre took his final breath and left us physically, but will always remain in the hearts of the ones that loved him.
Pierre's enduring legacy lies in his love and wise counsel. We will carry his memory with us every day, for the remainder of our lives. We will honor his legacy by sharing stories of his life, telling jokes and striving to be the best versions of ourselves. We will miss him and strive to meet him again on that glorious day where we can meet again face to face in heaven.
