Pierre Joseph Fleurant III, beloved husband, devoted father, and community member, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, in Hendersonville, NC, at the age of 96.
Born on July 4, 1928, in Providence, RI, Pete lived a life of dedication and service to his family, business, and community.
Pete was the owner and operator of SportLine Inc. in Hendersonville, NC, where he devoted many years to building a successful and respected textile business.
A graduate of Assumption College in Massachusetts and the Rhode Island School of Design, Pete was deeply involved in various community activities. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, served faithfully as an usher at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was a dedicated leader in the Boy Scouts of America. His unwavering support and leadership in these organizations touched many lives and exemplified his generous spirit.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Joseph Fleurant, Jr. and Theodora Nainteau Fleurant, as well as his son, Pierre J. "Pete" Fleurant.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 70 years, Mary Brennan Fleurant. He is also survived by his remaining three children: Michael R. Fleurant, John V.G. Fleurant, and Elizabeth M. Fleurant. Pete's legacy of love, devotion, and community service will be cherished by all who knew him.
A funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hendersonville, NC on Friday August 16, 2024 at 10AM. Church Street Funeral & Cremation are assisting the family during this difficult time.
