Powell Omsby Manion, a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was 78 years old.

Powell was born on March 16, 1947 in Depew, Oklahoma to Robert William and Opal Lucille Manion. He grew up primarily in Witcher, OK, attending Oakdale Schools and graduating from Edmond High School in 1965. Later that year he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Fort Worth, Texas. He met the love of his life Sharon Vinyard in Jones, OK through a friend. They were married March 18th 1967. They started their family in 1968 welcoming daughter Kathryn, then completed their family in 1973 with son Jason. Powell went on to join the Oklahoma City Fire Department where he proudly served for almost 25 years. He created camaraderie in the department where he found joy visiting to play cards even after retiring. Powell was a hard worker that never had idle hands. If he wasn't running his tractor business on his days off, he was in his shop tinkering on something around the house. He found enjoyment in classic cars, motorcycles, traveling, hunting and enjoyed a good sunrise. Some of his favorite travels include Little Sierra to ride Dune Buggies, a variety of camping trips traveling with his camper throughout the US. Powell cherished his time spent in Wyoming hunting and enjoying the wilderness with Brother Eddie and Friends through the years. His stories of beautiful scenery and special events during his travels became a staple of the campfire talks with Grands and Great grandkids. Powell was a devoted Jehovah Witness; he loved his congregation and always looked for a way to speak of Jehovah to anyone who would listen.

Powell is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Palmer; parents Robert and Opal; brothers, Eddie and Bobby; sister, Ida Christine; and nephew Donald.

Powell will forever be remembered by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Manion; children, Kathy Barrett (&James), Jason Manion (& Breonna); Grandchildren, Jimmy Palmer, Kristie Boydstun (& Brad), Jason Manion Jr., Alissa, Kamden, and Houston Barett; Great Grandchildren, Korbin, Annika, Lexi, Caden, and Raylee; Brother, David Manion (&Connie); Sister, Ruth Center; Sister In-Law, Pat Manion; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Powell will be rendered by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home, 1820 S Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73130. Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 8:00AM - 8:00PM, and a funeral service at 2:00PM, Saturday, August 2, 2025.
