Precley Owens Lll

Precley "PJ" Owens, III, age 43, passed
away on August 12, 2025, in New York,
New York. Born on January 6, 1982, in
Ocala, Florida, PJ brought warmth and
kindness to those around him throughout
his life. PJ was a natural athlete with a
passion for sports that began early in life.
During his high school years, he excelled
in football, baseball, and wrestling. His
dedication and talent culminated in a
remarkable senior year when he became a
state qualifier in wrestling and earned a
ranking of seventh in the state within his
weight class-a testament to his discipline
and competitive spirit. Known for his
friendly demeanor and respectful nature,
PJ had an easy way with people. He was
widely regarded as mannerable and
approachable, someone who got along with everyone.
PJ is survived by his loving parents, Theresa
Smith Owens and Precley Owens, Jr.; his
brother Keith A. Owens (Cristina); and two
sisters, Felicia L. Owens and Kimberlee M.
Owens. He also leaves behind his
grandfather Ollie C. Smith; six nephews-
Antoine Armbrister Jr., Amron Brightmon,
Amar Brightmon, Mason Owens, Emery
Owens, and James "Junior" Shepherd;
three nieces, Aaliyah Armbrister,
Avianna Pinellas, and Lavender Shepherd;
as well as many cherished aunts, uncles,
cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Precley
Owens Sr. and Lonzie M. Whitehead
Owens; his maternal grandmother Castella
Samuel Smith; and his paternal aunt
Thelma Jean Owens Holt.
PJ's memory lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness and good nature. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
