Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Thompson

Mary Elizabeth Thompson (Libby), age 78 of Ocala, Florida, passed away on October 24, 2025.
Mary was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to John and Mary E. Funk on December 18, 1946. She attended Eastern High School and graduated in 1964.
On November 1, 1980, the Thompson family moved to Casselbury, Florida, and settled in. Her work other than domestic duties was with the Seminole County School Board Transportation Department with bus drivers' and bus assignment for the county. She was awarded Employee of the Year once. In earlier years, Mary (Libby) played softball and always kept up with the sports.
She is survived by husband, Clarence, sons Glen and Mark, granddaughters Alex Gurantz (Jonathan), Ist Lt. Rylee Thompson U.S.A. and is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Funk, surviving brothers Robert, William, and David Funk and sister Ellen DeRosett.
Mary officially retired in 2002.
Mary Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala, Florida.
