Priscilla Ann Clifford Evans passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at the age of
90, at her home in Plymouth, NH. Priscilla was born on December 21, 1933, to Ralph Clifford and Lillian Kivi Clifford in Norwood, Massachusetts. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Clarence Clifford.
She lived most of her childhood and adulthood in the Plymouth area. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952. On October 23, 1954, Priscilla married her husband, Donald Elwin Evans, a local from Wentworth. Together they raised three children in their Plymouth home with family ties on Avery Street.
Priscilla worked for the New England Telephone Company in Plymouth for many years, until the company moved to Laconia and then she worked for Sprague Electric Company in Plymouth. Later she worked for Cold Springs Resort in Ashland as a PBX Operator and also worked for Dr. Hurme as a dental assistant for many years.
Priscilla loved people and family and she was well known for her kind and generous heart. She was a very social person with many friends throughout the town and she cultivated a wide range of hobbies and interests. Priscilla loved going to Wellington Beach in the summers with her young family, enjoyed attending and coordinating high school class reunions, baked and decorated cakes of all sorts, including wedding cakes, sewed many of her own children's clothes, created ceramics with her kiln, caned chairs, sewed cross-stitch, canvas, embroidery, and constantly performed wide assortments of other craft projects. She hosted Basket Party evenings, and enjoyed the camaraderie of her T.O.P.S. (Take off Pounds Sensibly) friends who would then share company and a meal together after weighing in. She loved having a good time and had a way of making others always feel welcome in her company.
Priscilla and Don spent over 30 years wintering at their second home in Zephyrhills, Florida. They loved going to flea markets and yard sales with friends, but especially cherished the company of her sister Babe, who originally talked her into the idea of going to Florida in the winter. At first Don wanted nothing to do with it, but as usual, Priscilla's strong will knew best, and soon Don absolutely loved his winter home and reluctantly admitted that his wife was right, again.
Priscilla is predeceased by her two sisters Edith "Babe" Magoon and Joan Smith, and her brother Ralph Clifford. She is survived by her husband, Don, of 69 years; their three children Donald Evans, Jr., Brenda Blake (Tristan), and Michael Evans; her two grandchildren Brooke Duchette (Jason) and Lauren Blake (Don); and her five great-grandchildren Evan Duchette, Ella Duchette, Blake Duchette, Maximus Stoesser, and Lillian Stoesser.
The family would like to express most sincere thanks to the angels who work for both Pemi-Baker Hospice and Home Health and Comfort Keepers. The nurses who work for these organizations deserve the most heartfelt praise that can possibly be given. They truly do deserve the status of being angels for all of the selfless work they perform to ensure dignity at the end of life.
The Mayhew Funeral Home in Plymouth is in charge of cremation services. There will be a graveside service and burial in the spring. Reverend Dr. Christopher Drew will perform the ceremony at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Pemi-Baker Hospice and Home Health, 101 Boulder Point Drive, Plymouth NH 03264.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 3pm at the Marriott
Fairfield Inn & Suites, 12 Ridge View Lane, Plymouth, NH.
