Mayhew Funeral Home - PlymouthWENTWORTH --- Robert "Bob" Lawrence Smith, 87, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Grafton County Nursing Home after bravely battling Dementia.
Bob was born in Plymouth, NH and raised in S. Wentworth by Ruby and Lawrence Smith. Bob wore many hats over the years as an employee at IPC making rubber, truck driver, bus driver and groomer operator. He shimmed roads all over the state in the summers when he owned his truck and plowed snow in the winter. He drove a school bus for many years at the Rumney Elementary School, later for Plymouth Regional High School, and also the shuttle for PSU. His true love was snowmobiling and grooming which he never considered a job. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, amazing Dad, and devoted grandpa.
Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary (White) Smith; son, Jeffrey Smith & wife Lois; daughter, Cathy Borger and husband Richard Borger, Jr.; grandchildren, Beth Stewart, Kathryn Smith, Rebecca Dow and their spouses; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter; and brother, Donald Smith and his 3 children.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Wentworth Congregational Church, 38 Wentworth Village Road; all are welcome. A grave side service and committal will be held in the Spring at Foster Cemetery, Wentworth, NH.
