Obituary For Pastor R. B. Evans
of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Victory of Albany (Formerly Victory Tabernacle Assembly of God) 3250 Sylvester Rd, Albany, GA 31705.
Interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens Church, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, GA 31707.
On the morning of Friday, February 23, 2024, RB Evans made his peaceful transition into God's resting place.
Born on April 6, 1955 to Mr. & Mrs. Amos "Amy" Evans, RB graduated from Worth County High School in 1974. He soon after enlisted in the U.S. Army, honorably and faithfully serving his country for 12 years. RB later retired from the Marine Corps Base as an Expediter Supervisor of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) after working there for more than 30 years.
On May 26, 2005, RB married the love of his life, Mrs. Gloria Evans. For 17 years, they served as members of Victory of Albany where RB served as Prayer Pastor and actively participated in several other ministries in the church as the Tuesday Intercessory Prayer Coordinator, Advisory Board Member, Small Group Leader, and the Men's Ministry.
Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to uplifting his community, RB often volunteered at Westover Comprehensive High School and with the Department of Veteran Affairs.
RB leaves to cherish his memories: Gloria Evans (Wife); Lois Harris (Mother-in- Law); 4 children – Rodell Evans, Jr. (LaShawnda Evans), James Loyd,Jr.,
Dr. Precious Hills, and Xavier Henderson (Tekeyla Mason); 4 grandchildren – Ryan Finley (Diamond Kittrell), Rodell Evans III, Zoe Evans, and McKenzi Grace Henderson; 2 great-grandchildren – Isaiah Finley and Roman Finley; 2 sisters –Culabell Evans and Jeanette Brown (Samuel Brown); 2 brothers Robert Evans and Montavious Thornton; A host of nieces and nephews.
RB is predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos "Amy" Evans, and 4 brothers – Julious Evans, Jessie Evans, Amos Evans, and Michael Leon Thornton.
