Robert Michael Koskey, 75, of Negaunee, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 27, 2025 at Eastwood Nursing Center while in the care of his loving family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Mike was born January 6, 1950 in Marquette to Alvin Robert and Rena Louise (Juidici) Koskey and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1968. He then earned his B.S. in Math Education from Northern Michigan University.
Mike worked underground at the Mather 'B' Mine and then taught for a short time at Marquette Senior High School before beginning his career with the USPS. He was employed as a mail carrier for over 30 years.
Mike was a volunteer firefighter for the Negaunee Fire Department. Known as 'Gee' to many, he was an avid Negaunee Miners and Michigan Wolverines fan. One of his life's highlights was following his children, nieces and nephews throughout their athletic careers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Ruth Lake, listening to the Rolling Stones, and social gatherings with his many friends downtown Negaunee.
Surviving are his loving wife, Susan (Marietti) Koskey; daughters: Tracy (Rob) Miller of Cincinnati and Laura (James) St. Onge of Negaunee; son, Robert Koskey of Negaunee; grandchildren: Jacob and Laila Miller; siblings: Kathy (Sean) O'Donnell, Allan (Karen) Koskey, David Koskey, Mary (Bo) Prusi and Kay (Jon) Jennings; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law, Laila and Myles Marietti; and beloved niece, Jaelyn Jennings. A friend to many, Mike will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-6 pm on Friday, January 31st at Koskey Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Mike's memory to UP Home Health and Hospice. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Grossman, Mike's nurse, Elyssa, and all staff members of UP Home Health and Hospice and Eastwood Nursing Center for their compassionate care.

So sorry to hear of the passing of "Gee" I will always remember his enthusiasm for the game, no matter what game or what the place, whether as a player or fan. Always enjoyed the time we spent together as friends or competitors. To all of the Koskey family my sincerest sympathies. Rest in peace! Randy "No Bucks" Kuivinen
