Robert Thomas "Tom" Ressler, age 75, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025. Visitation will be 10-11 am, followed by a Memorial Mass Service at 11:00 a.m., both on Friday, March 7th at the St. Paul Catholic Church, 21650 W 115th Terrace Olathe, KS 66061. A private entombment at Redeemer Mausoleum at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul Catholic Church or simply asks that you help a neighbor or someone in need in remembrance of Tom.
Tom was born on July 3rd, 1949, in Hartford, Connecticut, and was the oldest of three sons born to Robbie & Jean (Marsden) Ressler. He grew up in Deep River, CT, and graduated from Valley Regional High School in the Class of 1967. After graduating, Tom entered the Connecticut National Guard and soon started his career in the Commercial Printing Industry. Tom married Jo Adele "Del" Ackermann on November 4th, 1972 in Chester, CT. He was working for UARCO Printing when the opportunity came in 1982 to move his family to the Midwest and continue with the company. It was a hard decision to leave family and friends in Connecticut but Tom knew the move halfway across the country would present a new opportunity for his wife and children. Over the years, Tom and Del lived in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, gaining many friendships along the way. While Tom's location changed, these friendships remained. He retired in 2016, and he and Del returned to Kansas to be close to their sons and their families. Tom was an avid sports fan and was loyal to the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Yankees, and the Kansas City Royals - whenever they weren't playing the Yankees. He also was quite the bowler and took part in many leagues throughout the years.
Tom was always active in the churches and communities no matter where he lived. Tom's attention to detail was second to none - he was a planner, a note taker, and thinker - making sure nothing was overlooked no matter how big or how small. Tom also was quick to help others - whether it was a family member, a neighbor, or even a stranger - you could always be sure he would be there for you. He and Del are active members of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe. Above all, Tom loved to travel to his grandchildren's sporting events and activities and truly enjoyed spending time with his family. He always put others first and loved nothing more than being around family and friends. Tom will be missed - and remembered - for all of the good he put out into the world. He was a kind and thoughtful man who cared deeply for all of the people in his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Lyle Ressler.
Survivors include his wife, Del Ressler, of the home; their two sons, Ryan Ressler and wife Mandy of Leawood, KS.; Jeremy Ressler and wife Liz of Basehor, KS.; and four grandchildren: Maddox, Josie, Emmett, and Thatcher. One brother, Jon Ressler (Nanette) of Smyrna, Tennessee, as well as many, many friends.

My dearest friend Tom always made sure to give me a warm embrace every morning before I went and did my quality checks. I remember fondly his smile when he asked if the IGen could print metallics, and then realizing that he may not know much about printing but had the smile an pizazz to get through. He was such a silly billy at heart and I´ll miss the way he laughed about my bow legs with me.

So sorry to hear of Tom´s passing. I worked with Tom 11 years in Omaha when we were Corp Express and then Staples. He was one of the reasons we grew our business to one of our larger customers. I spent a lot of time with Tom in his office discussing work and family. He will be truly missed as a good friend.
