It is with heavy hearts that we remember Rachel Rebekah Reid, who passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at the age of 27 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 27, 1997, in Alamance County, Rachel brought joy and happiness to everyone she encountered.
Rachel was a vibrant soul, whose passion for cheerleading showed her love for jumping, dancing, and the thrill of performance. She cherished her collection of Barbie Dolls and found endless joy in watching anything Disney. Rachel truly cherished her family, finding joy in every moment spent with them. She particularly delighted in the company of her nieces and nephews, leaving a lasting imprint of love in their lives.
Rachel is survived by her loving and devoted mother, Michelle Furr Reid and friend, Jim Gober, along with her brothers, Matthew Strickler and wife Angel, Ryan Strickler and Andrew Furr and his wife Jessica; her sister, Bethany Reid Ingram and her husband Dujuan; her aunt, Sheila LeDesman and her husband Steve; uncle, Jeff Furr; several adoring nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, including Pat Collins and Taylor Whitney. Rachel is now reunited in spirit with her dear maternal grandparents, William “Bill” Furr and Wilda Furr, and her uncle, Grady Starling.
A heartfelt celebration of Rachel's life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Robert Dikes, Jr. officiating. Friends and family are invited to come together for visitation from 1:00pm to 1:45pm prior to the service to share in this moment of love and remembrance.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff and nurses from Community Support for the loving care and kindness shown to Rachel during her illness.
