Rachel Irwin Shaw, 64, of Boiling Springs, passed away November 19, 2025, at home.
Born July 14, 1961, in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Harold Seaton and Mary Kathryn (Spotts) Irwin Jr. She was a graduate of Geneva College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She spent many years working as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper at several locations.
Surviving Rachel is her husband of 42 years; Philip W. Shaw, her children; Philip Matthew Shaw (Rachel) of Newville, Isaac Irwin Shaw (Alyssa) of Mt. Holly Springs, Rebecca Lee Smith (David) of Mt. Holly Springs, Abigail Shaw Hershey (Austin) of Carlisle, 9 grandchildren, and siblings; Harold Irwin III, Rebecca Walter, Timothy Irwin and Jonathan Irwin.
Rachel was a member of the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church for 30 years. There she blessed the congregation with her beautiful soprano singing voice in the choir. She also spent many years as a Sunday School director and teacher. Rachel poured her heart into creating meaningful and interactive lessons to teach the children of the church the Word of God, helping to lead them into a lasting relationship with Christ. She additionally served with the Carlisle Truck Stop Ministry, Inc. She enjoyed reading in the mornings, traveling to the beach with her mother and family, and going on camping trips with her "Sweetheart", Phil.
A Memorial Service for Rachel will be held at the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10am.
Burial will be private.
