Rafaela Rodriguez

Rafaela T. Rodriguez, age 88, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2022, surrounded by family in Cypress, TX. She was born October 24, 1933 in Cerritos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the late Basilio Turrubiartes and Juana Tapia- Turrubiartes. She was an exceptional woman of God, wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend to all she knew. She always ensured that every person who entered her home was safe, healthy, happy and well fed. She had enough plastic butter tubs to hold every leftover in the Houston area. She was the queen of "reduce, reuse, recycle" before it became a popular way of life. She was the life of every party, no matter the occasion.
Rafaela is survived by her children: Marisela (Felipe Martinez †) Montelogo, Abel Turrubiartes; Veronica (Robert) Cena, Rafael (Trina) Benavides and Benjamin (Isabel) Benavides; grandchildren: Cesar (Norma) Martinez, Marcos Martinez, David (Mireya) Martinez; Jonathan Cena, Victoria (Hunter) Bothmann; Noelle, Noah, Gabriel, Donovan, Dashiell Benavides; Efren, Lillie, Bella Benavides; siblings: Francisca (Ubaldo+) Ontiveros, Marcial (Rosa) Turrubiartes, Fortino (Apolonia) Turrubiartes, and Eliza (Ricardo) Martinez; great grandchildren: Cesar (Ashley), Claudia, and Erick Martinez; Karla, Felipe and Emmanuel Martinez; and Edward, David Jr. and Ayleen Martinez; great great granddaughter, Alice. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio G. Rodriguez; her son-in-law, Felipe Martinez; her brother-in-laws', Ubaldo Ontiveros & Jose Barron; her mother, Juana Tapia- Turrubiartes; her sister, Petra Barron; and her father, Basilio Turrubiartes.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 4:00PM - 8:00PM at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, 2901 Canal Street Houston, TX 77003.
The Funeral Service will take place at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 11:00AM - 12:30PM.
Interment will follow at Santa Teresa Cemetery at 912 Buschong Street Houston, TX 77003.
