Ralph Joseph Aballo, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 surrounded by family in his Florida residence.
Born in
Newark, New Jersey to his parents Ralph Sr. and Marie (Torlucci) Aballo, he grew up in Linwood, NJ. As the cherished first grandchild, he held a special place in the hearts of his eleven loving aunts and uncles. A dedicated husband to his wife Cathy for nearly 45 years, a devoted father to his five children, and a proud "Poppy" to his nine grandchildren, Ralph was a man of great integrity and hard work who prioritized family over all. He will be remembered for the love, care, situational wisdom and attention he provided to all of us, individually and collectively with his humor. Ralph loved to laugh and entertain, play his favorite game of blackjack, whether casually with friends, on stage for business, offering remarks at family celebrations or trying his hand at stand-up comedy (Rodney Dangerfield). His presence at our family and community events will be deeply missed.
Ralph was the first person in his family to graduate from college and earned a B.S. in Economics from Villanova University. As a young father he juggled three jobs - 8th grade math teacher, camp counselor and a McDonald's Shift Manager. Then he moved on to form the Aballo Purvis Insurance Agency. His warm personality and endearing sense of humor made him a natural salesman and his interest in the stock market redirected him to a new career. As a financial planner, he worked for Blyth Eastman Dillon, AG Edwards, Ferris, Baker Watts/RBC, and became a Senior Vice President at BB&T/Scott & Stringfellow until 2016. Ralph's dedication to helping others, paired with his talent for meeting long-term financial objectives, laid the groundwork for his thriving career. Along the way, he not only assisted countless individuals but also forged enduring friendships with his clients and business partners.
He leaves behind his wife Cathy, his children and their partners Aimee (and Toby) of Daytona Beach, FL., Lisa (and John) of Winter Park, FL., Michael (and Jenn), of Columbia, MD., Tim (and Leanne), of Atlantic Beach, FL., Caitlin (and Matt) of Brookfield, CT., and his nine grandchildren Alison, Natalie, Ben, Lucy, Leo, Mila, Patrick, Madison and Atlas. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Tragesser of Las Vegas, NV., and his niece Vanessa, nephew Mark, and their families.
Ralph's enduring legacy of love, integrity and work ethic will forever resonate in our hearts. As we navigate our lives, let us strive to embrace each other and the world with the same vastness and passion that he embodied.
