Ralph Anthony Anderskow May 14, 1932 – August 18, 2025 Ralph Anthony Anderskow, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, devotion, and love. A lifelong and steadfast believer in God and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, Ralph's life was guided by an unwavering commitment to his faith and his family. Born on May 14, 1932, Ralph served honorably in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1951 to 1955. During a weekend of leave, he traveled to Provincetown, Massachusetts, to attend the Portuguese Blessing of the Fishing Fleet. It was there that his life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Catharina Silvia. Ralph often said he knew from the very first moment that she was the woman he would marry. They were married on August 11, 1956, and together they built a beautiful life-celebrating 69 years of marriage this August 11, 2025. Ralph valued education and hard work. He earned both his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from Loyola University, receiving his CPA certification in 1954 and later being admitted to practice before the Tax Court of the United States in 1966. While his early career was in accounting, Ralph went on to enjoy a long and successful career as an attorney, specializing in tax law. His dedication to his work reflected his commitment to helping others and ensuring the well-being of their families. For more than 20 years, Ralph actively served at St. Emily's Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister, a Minister of Care to the homebound, and a member of the Men's CHRP group. He also generously drove seniors to Mass, ensuring that others could share in the faith that meant so much to him. His faith was not only central to his own life but also a gift he shared freely with his parish community. Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest pride and joy were his family-six children, fifteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren-each of whom he cherished deeply. He is survived by his beloved wife, Catharina Silvia Anderskow; and their six children: • Charlotte Shepherd (husband Steve) of Rochester, MI – son Anthony Shepherd (wife Chloe) and their children, Ethan, Ava, and Mason. • David Anderskow (wife Patty) of Gurnee, IL – sons Ryan and Kyle (deceased); daughter Ashley Schroeder (husband Arthur) and their children, Chase and Aria. • Marybeth Baldridge (husband Mark) of Geneva, IL – sons Matthew and Mitchell. • Lisa Kiekens (husband Garry) of Houston, TX – sons David and Robert Fiveash. • Tinamarie Kline of Westfield, IN – children Tori, Grant, and Bryce. • John Anderskow (wife Yvette) of Mt. Prospect, IL – daughter Payton and her daughter Bralee; daughter Madisen; and sons Michael Poierier and Daniel Poierier (wife Meghan) and their children Elizha and Logan. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Juel and Lucy Anderskow; sister, Eleanor Wolski; brother, Lawrence Anderskow; and grandson, Kyle Anderskow. Ralph's life was a testament to faith, service, and family, and he will be remembered with love by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Emily's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Road, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056, on Monday, August 25, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place afterward at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, 3100 Thatcher Avenue, River Grove, IL 60171. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Emily's Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Ascension Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence.
