Ralph L. Freeman passed away on March 23, 2025, in Gilmer, Texas. He was born on March 22, 1944, in Marion, Ohio. He lived a life defined by his passions and the love he shared with those around him.
He was known for his unwavering commitment to his family and his many hobbies, which brought him joy and fulfillment. A man of simple pleasures, he found happiness in fishing and gardening, dedicating countless hours outside. His affection for his home was evident in the way he took pride in mowing the lawn and maintaining the beauty of his surroundings. Ralph truly cherished the tranquility of lakeside living.
Ralph's journey through life was marked by love and dedication, with one of his proudest accomplishments being his marriage to his beloved wife on December 20, 1962, in their hometown of Marion. This commitment to love and partnership defined his character and his life’s work. His devotion was evident not just in the years shared, but in the little moments filled with laughter, support, and kindness that they created together.
In his quieter moments, Ralph valued spending time with family, creating memories that will be forever held dear.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Freeman and Eva Freeman Perrsinger; daughter, Lisa Renae; brother, Donald Freeman, sister Janice Chapman; grandchild, Corey Carter.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia Freeman; children, Debbie Ritter and husband Jason, DeDe Pitman, Brenda Freeman, Lori Craig and husband Kenneth; brother, Larry Freeman and wife Barbara, sister Teresa Farlee and husband Dale; grandchildren, Justin Beene, Lance Pitman, Dustin Freeman and wife April, Robert Freeman and wife Shaina, Jennifer Craig, Danny Freeman, Caleb Ritter and wife Taylor ,Kalli Ritter; great grandchildren, Natalie, Kylie, Gunner, Teagan, Shaila, Thomas, Kay-Lynn, Dawson, Easton, Kaycelinn, Myra-Ann, Joyclenn, Solomon and Genesis; along with 1 great great grandchild, Cleo Lovelady.
A visitation will be held at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas, on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who brought joy to so many.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
