Ralph A. Marcucio, 80, of Hagaman, NY, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.
Ralph was born on December 27, 1944 in Amsterdam, NY to Anthony and Ann Marcucio. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Marcucio who was his high school sweet-heart, his son Ralph S. Marcucio and wife Andrea Barczak, San Francisco, CA,. his brother Glenn Marcucio and wife Doreen Marcucio, Hagaman, NY, his sister-in-law Janice Marcucio, of Virgina Beach, VA along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in passing by his parents and brother Robert Marcucio, of Virginia Beach, VA.
Ralph achieved the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts, the Order of the Eagle, and he graduated from Russell Sage with a degree in Biology. Ralph was a forensic serologist for the NY State Police.
Ralph's life was filled with the riches he loved. He shared a passion for travel and music with his wife. They traveled extensively through North America and visited Paris and Provence. Ralph could find all the good restaurants in a town, and he shared his passion for food widely among family and friends. He enjoyed motorcycles including riding his Harley Davidson and attending the Americade in Lake George during the summer. He was a big fan of NASCAR and a particular highlight for him was attending the Coca Cola 600 in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife. He gave to the community. He coached little league baseball and was a member of the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department. Ultimately, Ralph was a family man. He spent his life taking care of his family and friends, and he enjoyed their company immensely. He would tell anyone who would listen about his son's professional accomplishments. Ralph would bail his wife out of any jam she found herself in. He was a lover of all dogs. His spirit was kind and gentle. He was quiet and unassuming and was a friend to everyone. He will be greatly missed.
