Ralph H Williams 1933 – 2025

Ralph Williams, beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa and friend passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at his home in South Ogden, Utah. Ralph was born in Ogden, Utah on July 29, 1933, to John Raymond and Pearl Delilah Greenwell Williams, the youngest of four children.

Ralph graduated from Ogden High School in 1951 and promptly joined the Navy, serving as a battleship gunners' mate in the Korean conflict. It was while serving his country that Ralph first learned to cut hair, which would ultimately lead to his long career as a barber in Ogden. Ralph was always a hard and dependable worker; he supported his young family working various construction jobs and as a milkman. He took the opportunity to open his own barber shop, Ralph's House of Hair, on the corner of 24th and Monroe, where he worked for over 60 years, retiring at the age of 89. Ralph loved people and his shop provided a gathering place for friends, resulting in relationships that lasted a lifetime.

Ralph had a love for the outdoors and devoted time with friends and family to hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, golfing and boating. Ralph married LaJean Smith on April 29, 1955. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Vickie, Greg and Brad. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. LaJean succumbed to cancer in 1966. He married Ellen J. Malan on February 1, 1967, combining his family with Ellen and her two children, Doug and Sheri; their family was complete with the birth of their son, Michael. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Together they built a life focused on family and dear friends. They loved traveling, enjoying many trips and cruises. Ellen died on August 22, 2020.

Ralph was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ralph's greatest joy was his family. His love for each and every one of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident as he attended their ball games and other activities; always interested in and proud of their accomplishments. His famous waffles were something to look forward to when visiting Grandpa Ralph! He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather, dedicated to his family… and he was never wrong!

Special thanks to Diane Young Barlow, who was a great support to Ralph and Ellen in the early years of their marriage in caring for their home and children. Ralph is survived by his children: Vickie (Cal-deceased) Panter, Doug (Jeri) Malan, Sheri (Lothar)

Kososik, Greg Williams, Brad (Kristen) Williams, Mike Williams; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaJean, his second wife, Ellen, his parents, two brothers – Robert and Richard Williams, and a sister, Mary Lou Williams, and two grandsons – Jordan Booth Malan and Trevor Moore.

Please join us in celebrating Ralph's life on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah, 84404. A viewing will be held at the same location from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park.
