Ralph Clifton Wratchford, 77, of James City County, passed away July 25th, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer. The son of Ralph, Sr. and Mary Wratchford, he attended and graduated from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD. Ralph loved playing golf, bowling, working outside and going home to Cumberland to watch his Fort Hill football team play on Friday nights. He spent 37 years as a mechanic for Sears before retiring in 2014 and going on to work as a Gold Attendant for Golden Horseshoe in Williamsburg, a position he referred to that as his "fun job".
Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Wratchford, who he was married to for 29 years; his sister, Judy Wilson; and a nephew, Steve Blacklin. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sharon Kidd Wratchford; three step-children, Shaune, Meghean and Ashley Kidd; a sister, Betty McCoy of Ridgeley, WV; five grandchildren, Gabby, Alyssa, Ava, Layla and Caleb, who called him "Honey" and whom he loved as much as they loved him; a grandson, Roby Gray (Shelley), and their three children; as well as two nieces, Diana Wright and Tammy Muir (Eric) of Maryland; and a nephew, John Blacklin (Gwen) of Pennsylvania.
Private services will be held at a later date.
