Ramiro Figueroa of Austin, Travis, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 at the age of 69 due to lung cancer. He was born on March 11, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents, Ramiro Acevedo Figueroa Jr. and Irma Figueroa Acevedo.
A Life Well Lived
Ramiro was a devoted and loving husband, a loving father, beloved grandfather, great grandfather and a cherished friend to all who knew him.
He grew up in Queens, New York. Ramiro dedicated almost 25 years of his professional life at New York City Transit Authority (subways).
He was respected by his colleagues for his meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Beyond his work, Ramiro loved spending time with his grandsons John-Michael and Nicolas Armstrong. Ramiro will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering support, infectious sense of humor and generous spirit].
Family
Ramiro is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Esmeralda ; his daughter, Christina Dawn Fowler (Florida). He was a proud grandfather to 3 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and 3 step children, Stacy Lynn McCoy, Heather Leigh Armstrong and Joe Gilbert Martinez, Jr. ( Alisha), 6 step -grandchildren all from Austin, TX. He is also survived by his siblings, Carlos, Irma, and Edward. He had many loving family members. Special cousin ad her family, Sandra Altan (AI) Lindsey and Todd from Long Island, NY.
No Services will be held.
