From The Heart Of Randy's Sister, Cheryl
If you asked anyone who met Randy to describe him, I think that they would tell you that he was a man of very few words. For those of us who Randy let into his life and who really knew Randy, we would say that is absolutely correct. It took some time for Randy to warm up to people, but once he did he loved to tease you. Whether it was because you listened to NSync, and I knew what that was like. For me it was the New Kids on the Block. Or he would tease you about coming to your work to embarrass you to the point that you were watching the clock and praying that he was just kidding. Or it could be something as simple as him making you eat a pickle when he knew you didn’t like them. That was Randy. But we would also say that he was a loyal friend, a one of a kind son and the best big brother. And we would say that he was so smart, especially with computers. It always amazed me how he was able to teach himself how to build his own computers, when I am happy that I know how to turn one on; and how good he was with the stock market. He made it look so simple. And he loved those things so much. And of course, we would tell you that Randy had a big heart, and I think that is why he had such a way with kids. Kids are not like adults. Kids don’t concern themselves with the outside of a person. They looked at Randy and they could see right into that great big heart of his and they could see his character, and they just loved him and adored him. For me, Randy was my big brother. He taught me how to ride a bike when mom had given up, he taught me how to shoot a basketball, and I also learned at a pretty young age that if I didn’t want to get into trouble, don’t do what Randy was doing! I will never forget when Randy and I decided to change the net on our driveway basketball net. Randy climbed the ladder and replaced the net and then looked down at me on the ground with his “cat that ate the canary” grin of his and told me to go and get him a basketball. So I did. And Randy jumped off the ladder and slam dunked that basketball. And he hung onto that rim swinging and cheering for himself as I laughed. Then the basketball net came down and Randy and I went running. And I will never forget when dad got home hearing Randy race downstairs to tell dad that “Cheryl slam dunked the basketball” and that was why the basketball net was no longer standing. That was Randy. But Randy also taught me how to stand up for myself, because I always felt that if I could take on Randy, I could take on anybody. And now, he has taught me just how precious life is and how important it is not to take people in my life for granted, because life is short and tomorrow is not guaranteed. I think that instead of focusing on the future years that I will have to spend without Randy, I think I will try to focus on how blessed I was to have Randy in my life for the past 31 years. But I am going to miss him so much, because he wasn’t just a big brother to me. He was my best friend and I love him so much.

To Randy I may have been just his little cousin. The little girl that never stopped following him around, even at 25. The one who kept coming back for more, even when she knew he would always have one more trick hiding up his sleeve. I may have been just a high pitched voice that never seemed to stop talking and asking questions. But to me, Randy was more than just my cousin.
I still remember how excited I was when I found out Randy would be coming home for Christmas this year. To me, this was the best gift of all. I will forever be grateful for this past Christmas Eve and the time shared with my family. I only wish I had followed him around a little more, made him laugh a little harder and asked a few more questions. But there will be time for all of that when we meet again...
I love you Randy <3

It's always difficult to find meaning in such great pain. He was always respectful and kind to our chidren. We shared a brotherhood in the Air Force. He left his footprints in our lives. We thank you for such a fine young man. He will remain in our hearts, and you will be in our prayers. Find strength in the Lord and know you have neighbors who care.

~ Thoughts On Randy ~
So much hope.
So much promise.
So much success.
So much joy.
And then, in the blink of an eye, and without warning...
So much pain.
So much anger.
So much sadness.
So much emptiness.
Why?
Why now?
Why him?
Why so quickly?
No answer is acceptable.
No answer is logical.
No answer is calming.
No answer is forthcoming.
BUT we know that…
The darkest night is transformed into the light of day;
The highest tides become still waters having reached the land;
The paralyzing winds of winter turn into the gentle breezes of summer; and
The fiercest storm moves on and blue skies return.
And so we go on...the living…living without a large piece of ourselves and hoping to reclaim, some day, what’s now gone.

Randy,
I just found out yesterday about Randy's passing. I have to admit that I had a lump in my throat when I remember the times we had, talking,joking, ribbing and FANTASY FOOTBALL. I really feel like its a bad dream concerning his passing. He was known by many many people at American Axle as "The Rock". He made my day many times over when I was having a bad work day and i seen him walking over to say hi and rib on me about my Miami Dolphins getting beat by the Buffalo Bills. We lost a good guy, a great and funny guy, but heaven gained more than we lost down here on earth. May you rest in peace ROCK. I wish I could tell you I LOVE YOU and I miss you. I know I will see you again one day.

Randy,
When I met you last month my daddy said you are my cousin. But after spending some time with you, I made you my big brother. (Little girls can do that, you know.) We had lots of fun together chasing each other, tickling each other and playing "hiding". Even though you went upstairs to go to bed because you were tired, you came back down to play with me when you heard me calling your name. Daddy says you are gone now. He said you went to a special place where people only cry because they are so happy and never because they are sad. He said you are there with Grandad, who I never met (say "hi" to Grandad for me and tell him I wish I could have met him.) Daddy said Grandad went there when he was old and couldn't walk any more. But you are not old, Randy, and you sure can walk and run. So, why did you go there? Daddy says some day I will understand. You know, Randy, Daddy's usually right when he tells me things, but this time he's wrong. I don't think I'll ever understand why you went away so young.
Your little sister,
Randy and Rachael Mei

Diane, I am friend of Ron's and he told me about this sad loss. I am most thinking of you and may God send you peace and hold you in the palm of his hand. I hope the very best happiest memories make you smile and give you light and you know your son is in the Happiest of Places- I think for us its a long long time here on the Earth- but for him you will be in his arms in a second and there is no time and suffering or separation where he is. Take care of yourself and look to your own health. In Deepest Sympathy Best Wishes from Virginia, Bonita

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Randall. He always lit up a room with his smile and positive attitude. Randall was always upbeat and was extremely well liked by all that worked with him. I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Randall and I were roommates for about a year and a half. We grew to be very good friends. I will always remember the night when the Giants won the Superbowl against the Patriots we ran around the house screaming, yelling, and giving each other hi fives. He will truly truly be missed. I will never forget him. May God Bless & Keep you strong during this difficult time.

I worked with Cramer at Shaw AFB from 2007-2009. He was tough at first to figure out, but we had something in common because I was from Tonawanda. We talked about the Bills the Sabres and everything else Buffalo. He was a co-worker and friend. I remember how he talked about getting out of the Air Force and we discussed the posibility of staying in. I recognized his potential and with other peers encouraged him to give it his best shot testing for SSgt his first time. He passed the test and I saw an immediate change in him towards the supervisor and technician we knew he could be. His attitude was contagious and he motivated everyone around him to do their best. He knew how to get the job done and became a more and more dependable person of our communications team, someone I could trust to do the job right and give it his full attention. I was sad to hear he was no longer in the Air Force but I understood why. I was happy to hear he got the job in SC that he was hoping for, another example of him accomplishing whatever he was set to do. Cramer had a tough guy exterior but that was what made him fun to be around if not just to get him riled-up about something trivial like, how I lived closer to the city of Buffalo than he did, it always produced an interesting discussion that included everyone in the office that had us all laughing by the end. I had hoped to run into him again while I was still in the military and traveling, I am sad that we will not have the chance to catch up. I offer my condolences to his family.
