Randee Jones' Funeral CostsRandee Sue Jones, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully with devoted family and friends around her on October 27, 2025.
Our momma, born Randee Sue Casper in Driggs, Idaho to Lynn and Ruth Casper on March 22, 1950, was the best! She spent her childhood there and attended Driggs Elementary. The family later moved to Logan, Utah where she would attend Skyview High School. After graduation she trained and worked as a nursing assistant at Logan Hospital. This was a job she loved and talked about in her later years.
She found true love with James Howard Jones and after he asked her enough, she gave in and they married on March 2, 1978, in Logan, Utah. Jim and Randee were dedicated to each other and had a love their children strive to emulate. Randee was a good momma to her children; James Oliver, Steven Andrew, Barry Lynn (who died in infancy) and finally her girl, Amber Ruth! Our momma had strong convictions, among these was being kind to everyone. That's probably why she was loved by so many. She made friends with neighbors, coworkers, congregation members, and strangers alike. She wasn't just momma to her kids. She was "Ma" to every kid in the neighborhood who needed one, especially her children's friends. She was loving and long-suffering. It was in her nature to help and serve anywhere she saw a need.
Jim passed away on April 17, 2011. That's when she went to live with her son Steven and his new family. Suddenly, she was surrounded by twice as many grandkids and a new daughter-in-law. Randee made the best of it and was an important member of the household. She went everywhere with them including Taylorsville, Utah, Tremonton, Utah, and Jackson, Missouri. In 2022 momma had increasing health concerns and went to live in skilled nursing. She settled into her last favorite place at Lomond Peak Rehab and Nursing in Ogden, Utah just down the road from family. Randee thrived there and was known by all (even if no one remembered). She liked to color pictures, eat treats, play bingo, and watch movies with friends and staff.
Mom had a friendly smile and a sweet conversation for all. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mom and dad were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple March 4, 2015. She is survived by children and grandchildren: son Oliver (Kaerli) and Olivia, Zack, Layla, son Steven (Amber) and Cheyenne, Paige, Holly, Tristan, Brook, Eliyah, Isaiah, daughter Amber and Abby, Zoey, Harmony as well as Nate and Malachi. Her siblings Neldon (Virginia) Casper, JoAnn (Richard) Freeman, Kathy (Phil) Elliot, and Cindy (Kevin) Holmes. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Jim, their baby Barry, her loving parents, and her in-laws.
A special thanks goes out to all the caring staff at Lomond Peak who went above and beyond, especially her nurse Carolyn, and aides Alexis and Maria who cared for her in the last hours. Also, thanks to Intermountain Hospice including Kellianne, Ashley, Vada, and Lexie for their loving care
