Rev. Randolph Browning

Rev. Jerry Randolph Browning Sr. 88 of Mount Gilead passed away Saturday Afternoon, March 23, 2024.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Hamer Creek Baptist Church in Mt. Gilead. Rev Rupert Medford and Rev. Mike Greene will officiate and burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
Rev. Browning was born January 30, 1936 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late John and Mary Katherine Martin Browning. He was a retired Baptist Minister having served pastorates at Sea Level Baptist Church, Sea Level, NC, Huggins Memorial Baptist Church, Harkers Island, NC, Hamer Creek Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, NC, Long Branch Baptist Church, Lumberton, NC, First Baptist Church, Star, NC, Midway Baptist Church, Lumberton, NC and Westside Baptist Church, Red Springs, NC. After retirement he served as interim pastor for several churches.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Mildred Campbell Browning on October 24, 2023.He was also preceded in death by a sister Juanita McCoy.
He is survived by his son Jerry Browning and wife Teresa of Mt. Gilead and his daughter, Lisa Ricci and husband Harden of Holly Springs, NC. Two brothers, Richard Browning of Conway, SC and Michael Browning of Laurens, SC and a sister, Gail B. Williamson of Belton, SC. Four grandchildren Randy Browning (Shannon) of Mt Gilead, NC, Tori Williamson (David) of Mt Gilead, NC, Ethan Ricci (Kristine) of Fuquay Varina, NC, Josh Ricci (Casey) of Clayton, NC and eight great-grandchildren.
