Mr. Randy Cochran, 78, of Cartersville passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at his residence.
Born on October 5, 1946 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Harold Cochran and the late Rosa Popham Cochran. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeff & Bobbie Brandon; his twin daughters, Shana & Erin; his son-in-law, Corey Childers; his brother-in-law, Phil Brandon; his nephew, Kevin Brandon; and his special cousin, Garry Cochran.
Randy served his country as an Air Force Reservist and was a contractor by trade. He was very generous with his time, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Randy was very dedicated to the ministry at Atco Baptist Church. He was a member of Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 and Masonic Low Twelve Club. An avid fan, he loved watching sports on television, or in person, and never missed an opportunity to watch his grandsons practice and play any sport they were involved in. In his spare time gardening was a passion of his.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Cochran; his daughter, Meridith Childers; his grandsons; Dylan Childers (Megann Griffith) and Jacob Childers; his brother, Tim Cochran (Lynn); and his nephews, Brian Cochran, and Russ Cochran.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Atco Baptist Church with Reverend Justin Holcomb officiating. Mr. Cochran will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m.– 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Howard Howell, Johnny Evans, Ron Goss, Jr., Brian Cochran, Richard Gibson, Alan DaVitte, and Wayne Martin.
