Randy Emil Johnson, age 66, of
Almont, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital on March 2, 2026, at 4:10 a.m., with his loving wife and two daughters by his side.
Born on November 17, 1959, in Highland Park, Randy was the cherished son of the late Donald Emil Johnson (1926–2008) and Johnie Mae Johnson (née Melson) (1931–2012). He was raised with strong family values that he carried with him throughout his life.
Randy graduated from Troy Athens High School, Class of 1978. Shortly after, he began a lifelong career as a commercial plumber, becoming a proud member of Plumbers Local 98 for more than 40 years. Randy was deeply respected for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his trade and in the many friendships he built throughout his career.
On May 31, 1986, Randy married the love of his life, Justine Kaye Retell-Johnson. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. They shared nearly 40 years of marriage and countless memories.
Randy was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Mallory Liesel Johnson and Gabrielle Elaine Johnson (Derek Houser). His girls were his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Outside of work, Randy had a passion for motorcycles, operating heavy machinery, and spending time in northern Michigan, where he found peace and happiness surrounded by nature. Whether riding, working with his hands, or enjoying the quiet beauty of the outdoors, he lived life fully and on his own terms.
He is survived by his loving wife, Justine; his daughters, Mallory and Gabrielle (Derek); his sisters, Jane Sharon Wiegers (Thomas Wiegers) and Sandra Faye Johnson-Klein (Mitchell Klein); and his brother, Joseph Daniel Mudel. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Alan John Johnson (2023).
Randy will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, humor, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His steady presence, hardworking spirit, and generous heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A life well lived. A man well loved.
