Randy J. Michael, 68, of Logansport, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 in his residence.
Born on September 18, 1954 in Logansport, Randy is the son of the late Andrew J. and H. Lucille (Rice) Michael. Randy had worked for Bunge Corporation, he then became an electrician and served as the Building Commissioner for the City of Logansport and also worked for the Parks and Street Departments. In the most recent years, Randy enjoyed working at Home Depot.
Randy loved fishing the Chicago Cubs, the Indiana Hoosiers and keeping busy. He always looked forward to attending Friday night dinners and spending time with his family. Randy never knew a stranger and always looked forward to having a conversation with anyone who would listen.
Surviving Randy is two daughters, Mandy (Mike Hopper) Michael of Royal Center; Andria Land of Flora; son, Rob (Alyssa) Michael of Royal Center; twelve grandchildren, Kynzie Hathaway, Karlee Hopper, Gracie Hopper, Emma Hopper, Emma Land, Alexis Neal, Jaxson Hopper, Colton Hopper, Brady Land, Damon McGuire, Jace Michael and Jordan Michael; two sisters, Judith Flory of Logansport; Carol Shively of Logansport; brother, Jerry Michael of Tennessee; brother in law, Ray Meeks of Kokomo; Randy is also survived by his girlfriend, Vicky Hathaway.
Randy was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Meeks; two brothers, William Michael and Tom Michael; and his beloved dog Lucy.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Aaron Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, also in the funeral home.
