Ranea Kerhulas Pallad, 85, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Wappingers Falls, New York.
Born on April 11, 1940, in Columbia, South Carolina, Ranea was the beloved daughter of Peter Theodore Kerhulas and Pansy Petchios. She spent much of her early life in San Francisco, California, before settling in Orange, California, with her late husband, Gus Pallad. Ranea and Gus shared 48 loving years of marriage until his passing in March of 2014.
Ranea was most proud of her three sons: Peter and Michael Pallad of New York, and Ted Pallad of Santa Barbara, California. She was affectionately known as "Yaya" to her five cherished grandchildren-Parker, Carson, Gus, Robby, and Maddie Pallad-who brought her endless joy. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted Kerhulas and John Kerhulas.
Family was the center of Ranea's life. She had a deep love for animals, always wanting to welcome those in need of a home. Her warmth, generosity, and devotion to her loved ones will be remembered by all who knew her.
A Trisagion Service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Sneider, Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home, 977 So. El Camino Real, San Mateo, California. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Cross, 900 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, California.
