Raoul Desy Obituary

His wife, Marilyn E. (Peloquin) Desy passed away in April. Raoul leaves his two sons, Raoul A. Desy and his wife Alison Hu of Ballston Lake, NY and Daniel L. Desy of Fiskdale; and a sister, Mary Desy-Bull of Mapleton, ME. Raoul was predeceased by his sister, Rita Desy-Brown.
Raoul was born in Worcester the son of Raoul C. and Gladys B. (Labarge) Desy. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962 as an Engineman Third Class on the carrier USS Wasp (CVS-18).
Raoul was a Senior Design Engineer for the American Optical Co. in Southbridge, where he held 41 U.S. patents. He previously worked at Warren Pumps in Warren and at Geo. R. Suprenant Construction in Fiskdale. When his sons were young, he enjoyed coaching both soccer and Little League as well as being a Boy Scout Leader. He was also active in the parish council. Above all else he loved his family and was a great husband and father to his two boys.
A Graveside service for Raoul will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16th at 10:00 AM in St Anne's Cemetery, Arnold Rd., Sturbridge.
The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
