Ray Davis, 78, passed away on July 25, 2025 in Taft, CA. Born on January 24, 1947 in Yellville, AR. Ray lived a life marked by hard work and a deep love for his family.

In 1966, Ray proudly became an Army Ranger and was stationed in Germany. It was during this time he became pen pals with the love of his life, Arlene.

Following his time serving his country Ray & Arlene were married in Las Vegas on Valentine's Day in 1970. They had two children, Cameron and Jeffrey.

Ray moved his family to Taft, CA in 1971, where he built a career in the oilfields. Whether on the job or at home, he was known for his kindness and his horrible dad jokes.

Ray found joy in simple pleasures. He loved fishing and spending time at the casinos. Above all it was his family that brought him his greatest joy. He is lovenly remembered by his daughter Cameron (Jeffery) Van Winkle; son Jeffery Davis, brother Frank Hodges; sisters Judy Ables and Rochelle Davis; brother in law Glenn (Kay) Madoche and Jeff (Kay) Madoche; sister in law Diane (Pete); and grandchildren Alyssa, Corrine, Makenzie, Kyrsten, Sierra, Savannah, Mason, and Bentley.

Ray is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Arlene "Leanie"; mother Iveda Ruth DeLeon; step father Johnny DeLeon; father Ray Herman Davis; brother Kenny Davis; sister Sharon Davis; father in law Big Al Madoche; mother In law Betty Jane Madoche; brother in law "Happy" Robert Madoche; and sister in law Paula Madoche.

A Funeral service will be held on August 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Westside Cemetery, 440 Bob Hampton Rd. (Cedar St.). A luncheon to follow at 11:30 AM at the Church of Latter Day Saints located on Church St.

A special thank you goes out to Ray granddaughter Alyssa VanWinkle for putting 9 months of her life on hold to take care of her Papa both night and day until he took his last breath.
