Raymond G. DiMartini, 89, of Hackensack, NJ passed away peacefully on January 12, 2023 at Holy Name Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army where he served as a medic attached to the 67th Tank Battalion.
Ray graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ with a PhD in Physical Chemistry and a minor in Physics. Before retiring, Ray was the Chairman of the Chemistry Department at New York City Technical College, Brooklyn, NY where he was a Professor of Analytical Chemistry.
He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Angela, his sister, Marie, and brother, Michael. Ray is survived by his wife, Joanna, a son from a previous marriage, Stuart and his wife, Andrea, two grandsons, Chris and Milan, his sisters-in-law Elizabeth Podgorski and Christine Kozak and her husband James, nephew, Jeffrey Kozak, niece, Jennifer Huss and her husband, Nickolas, and their children, Tyler, Nicky, Mali and Nathan.
Viewing and cremation were private. Vander-Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus, NJ handled arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. My father, James Schroeder and "Uncle Ray" met during the Korean War and were best friends for 20+ years. Uncle Ray was my older sister“s godfather back in 1960. We knew his son Stuart. We are sorry for your loss. Peace to you and your family. Lisa Schroeder Ausman
