Ray Isley, born April 27, 1944, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Adkins, Texas. He was born at BAMC in San Antonio, Texas, to Roberta Roberts Isley and Raymond Isley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Isley (married November 25, 1983); and his stepdaughter, Nancy Parmer. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Bandy (Trey); son, Raymond Dwayne Isley; and stepson, Glen Parmer (Wanda); grandchildren, Madison Isley, Ty Parmer, Chance Parmer (Kearsten), Tyra Butler-Carson (Isaiah), and Megan Kettler; and great-grandchildren, Audrie Parmer, Jethro Parmer, Addison Clark, and Ryleigh Butler-Carson. He is also survived by his siblings, Holly Whetstone and Leland Dewayne Knox (Susan), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray served on many committees and was a lifetime member of the Sheriff's Posse and S.A.L.E., where he announced the barrel racing futurity for many years. He was also a proud member of Anchor Lodge 424, the Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Alzafar Shrine. Ray's greatest joys in life were his family, friends (especially John Baylor Dury and Walker Dury, who lovingly adopted him as their grandpa), fishing, hunting, and of course, horses.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Boldtville Presbyterian Church (6631 New Sulphur Springs Rd, San Antonio, TX 78263) in his memory.
