Raymond Francis McNamara

Raymond Francis Samuel McNamara, 79, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on April 2, 2025. Born on November 14, 1945, Raymond led a full and adventurous life, filled with humor, warmth, and meaningful connections with friends and family. He also served in the Army as a sharpshooter and received a National Defense Service Medal.
Raymonds life was marked by a variety of careers in sales, always seeking new experiences and challenges. He had a deep love for people, forming close relationships that meant the world to him. Whether he was gathering with friends or enjoying a quiet moment at home, Raymond knew how to find joy and laughter in every situation. He especially cherished outings to restaurants, often savoring good meals with those he loved, and his love for Westerns and WWE, which he called "real wrestling," was well-known among his friends and family.
One of Raymonds unique qualities was his role as a self-appointed "personal meteorologist." He took great pleasure in calling friends and family to report the weather, keeping everyone updated with his forecasts.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Arthur McNamara and Rosina Elizabeth McNamara. He is survived by his Aunt Doris Gibbs, many cousins, and a circle of dear friends, including Rita McNamara, John Carter, Ed Putman, and Crystal Davis. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Raymond will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his loving heart, and his zest for life.
The committal service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on April 22, 2025 at 10:00am.
