Raymundo Rosario Sambo, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 25, 2025.

Raymundo was born in San Nicholas Pangasinan, Philippines on October 27, 1945. In 1973, he emigrated to the United States with his wife, Victoria, and only daughter at that time, Ellaine, initially settling in Berwyn, IL. They spent some time in Oak Park, before purchasing their first home in Darien in 1977. Raymundo was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1978. He enjoyed fishing, with a special love of Lake Geneva, family road trips in his Fleetwood Cadillac, spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren.

Raymundo is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Victoria Sambo (nee Aspecto); children, Ellaine (Alejandro) Reyther and Michelle Trujillo; grandchildren, Alejandro Jr, Robert, Kayli, and Sophia; and siblings, Aurora Santiago and Glicerio Sambo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Melecia Sambo; siblings, Jose, Pedro, Arador, and Iluminada.

A visitation for Raymundo will be held on Sunday February 9, 2025, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. A second visitation will be held the following morning from 9am until the time of services at 10:30am at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010. Burial to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymundo’s name may be made to WINGS Program, Inc. or The Barrington Area Community Foundation.
