Rebecca Ann Glaze, known affectionately as Becky to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Indianapolis, at the age of 56. Born on December 18, 1968, in Tacoma, WA, Becky was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.
Becky's journey began as the cherished daughter of her loving parents Richard L. and Sharon (Strader) Thornton in Tacoma, Wa. Her early years were filled with the simple joys of life, which later blossomed into the interests that defined her. Becky's love for camping, tending to her garden, assembling jigsaw puzzles, fishing, and creating music on her keyboard were well-known to those who were close to her. Her passion for traveling opened her eyes to the wonders of the world, yet she always found the greatest peace and happiness in the company of her beloved family and in her unwavering faith in the Lord. Becky met and married her soulmate, Mark Glaze, and together they built a life filled with love and mutual respect. Becky's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she instilled in her daughters the values of kindness, generosity, and faith that she held so dear. Becky's love multiplied with the arrival of her three grandsons, Mason, Alexander, and Jayxon, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. She was a devoted grandmother, always ready with a hug, a story, or a lesson in gardening, and her grandsons will carry the memory of her love and wisdom with them always.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mark, her daughters, Samantha Glaze (Skyler Walker) and Rasha' Glaze, her grandsons, Mason, Alexander and Jayxon; her mother, Sharon Thornton (Lanny Schlamp) her brother, John Thornton (Michelle Natalie), her sister-in-law, Peggy Clark and her husband Steve, and her brothers-in-law, Scott, Darrell and his wife Carol, and Barry Glaze along with several nieces and nephews. Each family member will miss her deeply, remembering her as the heart of their family.
She was preceded in death by her Father.
Professionally, Becky dedicated many years of service as a custodian at Cook Incorporated, where she was not only a diligent worker but also a friend to all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with Brother Charles Evans officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 pm until time of services at the funeral home. Share condolences, memories and more with Becky's family by visiting her tribute page at www.chandlerfh.com
