Rebecca Gonzalez, of Corpus Christi, TX passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025 at the age of 91. She was born on February 24, 1934, to Patricio and Evarista Guardiola in Robstown, Texas. Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe (Lupito) Gonzalez, parents, Patricio and Evarista Guardiola, children Bobby Gonzalez and Ida Gonzalez-Garza (Ruben), and siblings Ruben Guardiola, Paul Guardiola and, Natividad (Tiva) Arzola. Rebecca is survived by her children, Freddy G. Gonzalez, Norma Gonzalez and Lisa (Michael) Benavides, daughter-in-law Jackie Gonzalez, and younger siblings Rachel (Rey) Flores and Jose (Lupita) Guardiola. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Alexandra (Lane), Tristan, Lauren, Estevan, Giselle and Alysse, and great-grandchildren Ava and Lincoln, all of whom she loved dearly. When she was young, Rebecca lost both her parents and was the mother figure for her younger siblings. She worked hard to provide for her family and had to give up many aspects of her childhood to care for her family. Rebecca met Lupe in Robstown in 1955, and after he returned from the service they were married in 1958. Shortly after marriage, Rebecca and Lupe had their children, whom Rebecca raised with great dedication and sacrifice. Above all things, Rebecca was a woman of God. Through all of life’s trials and tribulations she remained faithful and knew the Lord would provide peace and comfort. She was a strong believer and instilled those beliefs in her children, and all of those she helped raise. Because of Rebecca, she has raised generations of resilient, loving, God fearing individuals. We will continue to carry on her love, strength, and memory. Please join us in honoring and celebrating the life of an amazing women. Visitation will be on March 14, 2025, at 6:00 P.M at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX 78410, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 P.M. Funeral service will be on March 15, 2025, at 10:00 A.M, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home followed by internment at Memorial Park Cemetery at 4607 FM 1889, Robstown, TX 78380. Pallbearers for the services will be Tristan Gonzalez, Estevan Gonzalez, Lane GutierrezKilbourn, Augustin (Gus) Barrera, Patricio Guardiola, Gerald Cardenas, Kristian Mir, Roland Trevino, Juan Gonzalez, and Arnold Gonzalez Honorary Pallbearer–Carlos Trevino
