Rebecca Pitcock Obituary Rebecca Jean Gift-Pitcock was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her home, surrounded by those who loved her deeply.
Born to Jessie Calvin Gift of Bakerton, West Virginia, and Mabel Edith Holmes-Gift of Chestnut Grove, Becki blessed this world with her presence on November 9th, 1952. She grew up chasing after her older brother, Frank, through the town of Sharpsburg, MD.
Becki was a 1970 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She continued her education by getting her cosmetology license from Award Beauty School in 1971 and served the town of Boonsboro at "Sherrys Beauty Salon,""A Cut Above" Hair salon, and then "Sherrys Beauty Salon "until she retired in March of 2020.
Becki married James Ronney Walling in October of 1970.
Ronney blessed her with her two boys, James Jason Eric Walling and Joshua Aaron Walling. Becki knew that not all love was meant to last, and just like pancakes, its okay to throw the first one out.
Rebecca went on to find love again in the form of Staff Sergeant and aspiring Magician Lester Eugene Pitcock. She was hesitant to tie her life to someone else's again. Still, after much persistence and multiple proposals, Rebecca finally, after 8 years, said yes, and they joined their lives together in front of God in January 1993.
Through her love of a man, she became a mother to two more, Karissa Darlene Pitcock and Mathew Eugene Pitcock. They lived a wonderful life of blended bliss and went to every King Magic Ring until Lester was unexpectedly taken from this world on January 25th, 1993. Rebecca never remarried; her love for Lester was "the love of a lifetime and none could compare."
Becki filled her time raising all four of her children and showing them the unconditional love of a mother. She later spread that love to her Daughter-in-law, Karen Walling, grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaylee JessicaMae Walling, Jesse Tyler Hunter Walling, Kacee Schindel, Josie Walling, Amber Colas, Trinity Hun, Terrionna Ardell, Lily, and Wyatt Pitcock.
Her love spread more with the blessings of her great-grandchildren, Aurora, Athena, Beckham, Remi, Jean Luc, Layla, and Jackson.
Becki spread love to everyone she knew, spending time with her brother Franklin Eugene Gift, his wife Ava, and their son Zachary John Calvin Gift.
Becki was a member of Pleasantville First Church of God and active with Antietam Unit 236, American Legion Auxiliary.
Rebecca was a woman you flocked to. She was always laughing, smiling, and bringing
so much joy to all those who knew her. She was a safe space, a shoulder to cry on, a friend, and a woman of God.
Rebecca spent her time crafting, doing hair, collecting cats, and praising the lord. You could find her in church every Sunday, at every Christian concert in the tri-state with her bestie and sister in Christ, Mole (Cheryl Swope-Miller), out causing chaos with her best friend Brenda Brown, or hanging out at Camp with her son Jay and daughter-in-law Karen.
Rebecca lived a quiet life that was so full of family, friends, love, and God.
Rebecca spent the last years of her life battling cancer, where she showed how much of a warrior she truly was. Not once through her struggles did she show weakness; she walked with God during every chemo treatment and hospitalization. In December of 2024, she made the decision to discontinue chemo and to live her life for the amount of time that God had bestowed upon her, and she showed no fear.
Through her battle and journey, Becki spread her love and motherly affection to her friend and nurse, Rhonda. Rhonda was always there for her and her family. Spreading laughter, love and joy, Rhonda cared for Becki until the end and has become a permanent part of Beckis family.
She passed peacefully and walked through the gates of heaven to see those whom she had loved and lost in life.
