With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Reece Robert Maxey, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, Veteran and friend, who departed this life on December 9, 2024 at the age of 90 in his home in Ozark, Mo. Reece was born on April 9, 1934 in Kansas City, MO. His life was characterized by his unwavering commitment to his family and country. He proudly served in the Army and Air Force as an electronic technician with the Department of Defense. He took great pride in his work which took him to many different countries.
Reece is survived by his devoted wife, Berta, whose love and companionship brought him joy and comfort in their years together. He is also survived by his daughter Karen Pyle and husband Enoch, daughter Susan Maxey, Son-in-law Kyou Hosseini, son Robert Maxey and wife Janell, as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Reece and Berta created a lifetime of special memories which will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
To honor Reece's life, a memorial service will be held on December 13, 2024, at 2:00pm. Friends and family are invited to attend at Springfield Church of God 7th Day located in Springfield, Mo. at 1521 E. 24th St. North.
Though Reece has left us, his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace Reece. You will be missed, more than words can express.
Reece was preceded in death by his parents Hadley and Berniece Upton, brother Tom Snow, sister Mary Snow and daughter Claudia Martin and her husband Art Martin.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) 2525 E. Division Springfield, MO 65803.
