Reed Springer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marietta Funeral Home & Crematory - Marietta on May 17, 2024.
Reed Alexander Springer, age 17, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Reed was born September 28, 2006 in Orlando, Florida, to John and Lauren (Rumrill) Springer and the younger brother of Victoria Springer.
Reed's tender heart was not suited for the real world despite how much love, support, and laughter we filled his world with. He wanted to be a fun-loving kid forever and that is how he will be remembered.
Reed was a Junior at Cobb Online Learning Academy High School where he made the honor roll multiple times and dreamed of working at a history museum.
Reed will be missed by family and friends for being a warm and friendly neighborhood ambassador, professional dog greeter, cat cuddler, fort builder, and avid stick collector who enjoyed walks daily through the community he loved and the friendly faces and furry friends that loved him back.
Friends and neighbors could always expect a wave, a smile, or a fist bump. He was always happy and inviting to everyone. Reed would tell everyone "Have a great day!"
Reed was known for his love for his family, friends, and neighbors. He really treasured his time with friends. He loved them dearly and deeply.
He loved pirate movies, legos, super heroes, comic books, World War II history, history museums, video games, puns, knock knock jokes, wedding dancing, NERF battles, making silly movies with friends and his cats Mia and Ella. Reed is snuggling with his childhood cat, Calvin, in Heaven.
Reed is survived by his parents and sister; grandparents Tom and Lyn Rumrill, John and Lorraine Springer; Uncles and Aunts: Allen and Angela Springer (Abi (Cam), Nate, JinAh, and Jay), Tonia and Jerry Nelson (Maya, Vanessa and Omar) and so many beloved family, friends, and pets.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. The family invites you to come as you are and if possible, wear something green as this was Reed's favorite color.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given in Reed's honor to Good Mews or a teen suicide prevention nonprofit of your choosing. Or take a walk on a trail, build a fort for kids in your neighborhood, and when you walk by someone, tell them "Have a Great Day!" in honor of Reed so his kindness leaves an imprint on all your lives.
