Regina Ann Alatervo was born July 28, 1957, in Lafayette, Indiana. She passed from this life on July 22, 2024, at her home in Eagle River at the age of 66.
She grew up on the family homestead in Kenai as the daughter of Guy E. Moore and Claramae Kuhlmann. In 1999 she graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She retired in August 2017 after enjoying a long-tenured career with the Municipality of Anchorage within the Budget Office and Department of Recreation. Regina was a skilled photographer and enjoyed many other hobbies such as gardening, crocheting, puzzles, ping-pong, and true crime television.
Laughter was an important part of Regina's life and as such she assigned great value to humor and imagination. She'll be remembered for her giving nature and adventurous and lively spirit.
Surviving her are her children (Calista Barganier, of Anchorage, Alaska; Eila Alatervo, of Eagle River, Alaska; Adam Thornsley, of New Braunfels, Texas), her brother (Carleton Moore, of Tucson, Arizona), her sister (Gwendolyn Black, of Sutton, Alaska), her nephew (Robert Black, of Sutton, Alaska), her niece (Heidi Black, of Sutton, Alaska), her grandchildren (Daylan, Darian, Dante, and CJ Barganier, all of Anchorage, Alaska), and her Alaskan Malamute (Viktor). She is preceded in death by her brother (Randy Moore).
It was Regina's wish that a formal service not be held.
