A Celebration of Life Gathering for Reginald "Reggie" Dale Alwell will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM at the Deville Fire Department Multi-Use Facility, 1244 Hwy 115 in Deville, Louisiana, 71328.
Reginald "Reggie" Dale Alwell left this world on Friday, July 12, 2024, to be with Jesus in his heavenly home.
Reggie is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel L. Alwell and Hattie Mae Cole Alwell; his maternal grandparents, Sam Cole and Della Cole; his paternal grandparents, Samuel L. Alwell and Leanora Alwell; his sister, Jackie Alwell McGinty; and his nephews, Ricky Alwell, Timothy Alwell, and Kirk Lutz.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Cathy Johnson Alwell; his children, Kevin Alwell (Rose Ann), Janna Alwell Matthews, and Samantha Alwell Everett (Brad); his grandchildren, Trevor Alwell, Carina Alwell, Cassidy Alwell, Caleb Matthews, Joshua Matthews, Camryn Matthews, Ainsley Fowler, Parker-Kate Everett, Madison Everett, and Abigail Everett; his brothers, Dewayne Alwell and Randy Alwell (Karen); and many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Reggie was born on April 3, 1951, in Jonesville, Louisiana to Samuel L. Alwell and Hattie Mae Cole Alwell. He was a devoted husband and father. His greatest love was always his family. Reggie had an infectious smile and contagious laugh. He was a generous man, who would give the shirt off his back if a friend or family member were in need. Reggie was a member of the W.D. Fisher Freemason lodge in Deville, Louisiana. He believed his greatest accomplishment was providing all three of his children with a debt-free college education. He retired from BellSouth/ AT&T in 2005 after 32 years of service as a cable repair technician. He loved LSU sports, fishing, and making memories with family and friends at Toledo Bend.
The family thanks Christus Health Hospital, Alexandria, Louisiana; Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Dr. Lyons and Staff, Baton Rouge, LA; Compassionate Care Hospice – Alexandria, LA and friends and family for their prayers, love and support.
