Reginald Charles Sharp, 73, of Farmington, CT, passed away peacefully on the night of December 30, 2024, with his faithful wife Louise (Lapointe) Sharp by his side. While living in Avon, Reggie met Louise in 1988 while bartending. They got married and moved to Farmington in 1995, where they had their daughter. They were married for almost three decades. Reggie was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Gloria (Davis) Sharp and by his sister, Brenda Jackson of CA. Reggie is survived by his wonderful wife Louise; his devoted daughter, Christina; his sister, Cindi of CA; his nephews, Tarik Jackson of CA, Lance Jackson of CA, and Gary Jackson of IL; and his two loyal corgis, Sydney and Tinsel.
Reggie was a former member of the New London Motorcycle Club where he loved to go on rides with the members. After completing service in Vietnam and becoming a Veteran of the U.S. Army, Reggie worked for Northeast Utilities in meter service for thirty-two years. He retired in January 2015, and his favorite rebuttal was: "I am retired, which means I do nothing".
Reggie enjoyed watching TV, especially westerns, football, and baseball with his dear friend Tom Novajasky. The family wishes to thank Tom for all of his help over the years. They are eternally grateful for his hard work and contributions to the house. Reggie loved playing with Sydney, his "smart, loyal ruppy", and spent most of his time in his man-cave, where he built train sets, flew helicopters, collected coins and historical relics. He loved showing them to his daughter. He adored tending to his garden, which he sustained for years, and doing yard work outside, rain or shine.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, at St. Brigid Church, 1083 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will follow at noon in CT State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
