Relious Emmett Reece

Relious Emmett Reece, age 91, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Kempton of Rock Hill.

The family is hosting a memorial that will be at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Wolfe Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The burial will be private.

Born in Ellenboro, NC, Emmett was the son of the late Charlie Emmett Reece and Marie Louise Hamrick Reece. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving three years active duty being stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Emmett was a member of the Hejaz Shriners Hospital and Masonic Lodge # 385. He was a retiree from Celanese Trucking and the Town of Fort Mill. In his later years he also drove cars for Burns Chevrolet. Emmett enjoyed watching NASCAR, football, baseball and Judge Judy on television. He loved to travel, visiting many places throughout his life, his favorite place was New Orleans, LA. He loved to laugh and could talk to anyone. He never met a stranger. Most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather and husband. He will be missed dearly

Surviving are his children, Johnsie Hughes (Ernie), Sandra Godfrey (Sandy), Wendy Bishop, John Reece; siblings, Elvira Braswell, Willie Holder, Mary Lou Christy; grandchildren, Stephaine Norris, Justin Hughes, Jamie Moore, Sarah Eller; great-grandchildren, Carson Eller, Campbell Moore, Avery Hughes, Chloe Eller and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Geraldine Reece and his siblings, Brenda Reece, JD Reece and Grady Reece.
